Dustin bravely shared his daughter’s story on The Project last night. Sadly, his family’s story is one faced by too many Australians. The lack of focus and funding directed to brain cancer is an injustice that needs to be addressed. In order for people with brain cancer to have an equal shot at survival as other cancers, the Government needs to dramatically increase funding.
Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia, and more people under 40 than any other cancer, yet receives less than five per cent of Government cancer funding.
Dustin’s pleas echo Cure Brain Cancer Foundation’s submission to the Senate, which was joined by 240 public submissions, many from the brain cancer community, including Dustin. We will continue to ensure brain cancer’s voice is heard until we get better survival outcomes for people with brain cancer.
