Join Team Cure Brain Cancer on North Curl Curl beach for this festival of ocean sport! Whether you love ocean paddling, ocean swimming or beach running, there’s a challenge to suit you.
The race schedule features:
8am True Paddlers Challenge: Aimed at ocean paddlers, this challenge features a 4km paddle, a 2km beach run and a final 4km paddle.
9.15am True Mile Ocean Swim: A 1,600m ocean swim through the break at North Curl Curl, around a turn buoy, across to South Curl Curl, before another turn buoy and a swim back to North Curl Curl to finish.
9.20am Cure Brain Cancer ¼ mile Ocean Splash: A shorter swim for people who are new to ocean swimming and keen to give it a try. Participants swim through the break at North Curl Curl, around a turn buoy and back to the beach.
10.30am True Protein 3 Points Challenge:
The headline event for the day, this is a series of 3 ocean swims connected by 3 stunning cross country runs. Competitors start with a 400m swim at North Curl Curl followed by a 1,500 run to South Curl Curl, a 300m swim at South Curl Curl, a stunning boardwalk run around the headland to Freshwater Beach and a final 200m swim at Freshwater Beach. Then to finish off, competitors run 3km back to North Curl Curl beach via pathways, cross country and a final soft sand finish!
11.45am Invitational True Dash for Cash: Open to the
top 3 Elite male and female finishers in the 3 Points Challenge and Ocean Swim, this event is a series of sprints through the surf break finishing with a beach sprint up the sand.
12.45pm Nippers Hydrothon: A race for the youngsters, this is a swim, paddle run combination with a variety of distances for different age groups.
