You can now easily donate shares, in small or larger parcels, to support the work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
Would you like to donate shares instead of cash? Do you have inconvenient small parcels of shares in your share portfolio you would like to ‘tidy up’? Would you like to donate shares, but are concerned about losing value to brokerage fees and lots of administration?
There are a number of options available for the donation of shares, which minimise administration and ensure the greatest value is provided to support brain cancer research.
To discuss the donation options available, please contact Jennifer Ball on 02 8973 1411 or email@example.com
One great option for donating smaller parcels of shares is ShareGift Australia - a not-for-profit organisation that provides Australian shareholders with the opportunity to sell their shares and donate the proceeds to charity.
Selling and donating through ShareGift Australia means you don’t have to engage a stockbroker, there are no brokerage fees and should the proceeds of the sale exceed $50.00 you can nominate Cure Brain Cancer Foundation as your recommended charity to benefit from ShareGift Australia donations.
It’s straightforward and you can receive a tax deduction for charitable donations over $2.00.
The process couldn’t be simpler:
- Download and complete the Share sale donation form available on the ShareGift Australia website (remember to recommend Cure Brain Cancer Foundation).
- Send the form directly to ShareGift Australia either via post to GPO Box 4370, Melbourne VIC 3001 or scanned, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Please let Cure Brain Cancer Foundation know you have donated shares to ShareGift Australia and recommended the Foundation so we can acknowledge your support.
- ShareGift Australia will manage the sale of your shares through one of their supporting brokers and send you a receipt for tax purposes.
Each quarter the ShareGift Australia Board reviews the donors’ charity recommendations and donates the share sale proceeds to a range of charities. ShareGift Australia makes donations in round figures taking into account the value of the shares donated and the number of recommendations received for each eligible charity.
ShareGift does not facilitate the sale of shares and pass on the exact proceeds of each share sale directly to beneficiary charities within any given quarter - instead they aggregate donations over time and make larger sized donations.
