The DIPG Collaborative is made up of over 20 foundations cooperatively funding between $1-2 million to DIPG research every two years. Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is a proud Foundational Partner of the Collaborative and allocated $36,832 to the Collaborative in 2019. In 2019, the DIPG Collaborative awarded $650,299 to six world-class research projects. 

  • Grant 1: Developing new epigenetic combination treatments against DIPG (Dr. Maria Tsoli, Children’s Cancer Institute, $151,468).

  • Grant 2: Targeting hypoxia and mitochondrial metabolism with repurposing drugs as an approach of radiosensitization for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (Dr. Han Shen, The University of Sydney, $100,000).

  • Grant 3: Targeting Top3A-Amplified DIPG cells by Sirtuin inhibition (Dr. Chris Jones, Institute of Cancer Research, $121,863).

  • Grant 4: Responses of distinct cell populations to PDGFRA inhibitors in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (A/Prof. Robert Lober, Dayton Children’s Hospital, $69,600).
     
  • Grant 5: Therapeutic reversal of pre-natal pontine ID1 signaling in DIPG (A/Prof. Carl Koschmann, University of Michigan Hospitals, $157,856).
     
  • Grant 6: Development of a new and effective therapy against DIPG (Prof. Terry Johns, Telethon Kids Institute, $49,512).
