Research Strategy
Cure Brain Cancer Foundation supports research across the full therapeutic development pathway. We focus on work that can advance understanding, guide development of potential therapies, and strengthen the connection between early investigation and clinical testing. This approach supports the progression of ideas through each stage of the research pathway.
Discovery and Preclinical Research
We support early-stage research that explores new directions, tests emerging concepts, and builds foundational evidence. These projects strengthen the foundation of the research pipeline, refine priorities, and highlight opportunities with potential for future impact. Strong preclinical work increases the likelihood that later stages move with clarity and purpose.
Early and Mid-Career Fellowships
Our Brilliant Minds program focuses on people. Early Career Fellowships support researchers entering the field and help them build the track record needed for long term success. The Mid-Career Fellowship retains skilled researchers at a crucial stage of their careers and supports work that drives translation. Both programs strengthen the national research workforce and increase the number of investigators focusing on brain cancer.
Clinical Translation
The Clinical Accelerator helps move laboratory discoveries closer to clinical testing. It supports projects that show early biological promise and need structured development to reach proof of concept. The aim is to advance strong candidates to a point where they are ready for engagement with industry or major research bodies.
Clinical Trial Development
We track modern clinical trial designs used internationally, including platform, umbrella, and basket trials. These models test multiple therapies, remove ineffective options, and allow new arms to be added without restarting a study. This creates more flexible and efficient systems for evaluating treatments. GBM AGILE is one example of this approach operating in Australia. As these models evolve, we seek partnerships that make participation sustainable and accessible.
